Alexia Chevrollier, born in 1989, is a graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure d’Art de Dijon and the University Paris-Sorbonne in art theory research. Her work has been shown in several group and solo exhibitions in France (Centre Pompidou-Metz, Le Parc Saint Léger-Centre d’art contemporain, Galerie Bertrand Grimont, La Villa Belleville, ART-O-RAMA, Galerie Interface, La Cantine d’art contemporain…) and abroad (Les Brasseurs art contemporain – Liège, Centre culturel Métaculture – Kiev). The artist has also been the winner and finalist of several prizes (winner of the CRAC 2018 Young Public Prize and the Young Talents Côte-D’or 2013 Prize, finalist of Talents Contemporains 2013 of the François Schneider Foundation) and has carried out several research and creation residencies. Alexia Chevrollier’s work includes sculpture, painting and installation. She questions the tools that we put in place to resist imposed temporality, highlighting the suspense inherent in the individual notion of time and identity. To do this, she is interested in the living, the complexity of materials, their organicity. By focusing on the potentialities of transformation, Alexia Chevrollier creates an analogy between the potential of matter and its temporality.
