Born in South Korea, Eunwan Han lives and works in Paris. After graduating from the Fine Arts School in South Korea, she moved to France to complete her training in Plastic Arts at the University of Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne). She is particularly interested in the so-called “art brut” works, which she rediscovered during a visit to the Museum Gugging. Inspired by the tenacity and apparent concentration of the artists, especially the works of Heinrich Reisenbauer, she imposes long graphic exercises, mostly on paper, through the repetition and simplification of forms. Her work is organised around pictorial practices: painting and drawing on the theme of the “Box” representing a universe of her own, poetic and imaginary. Through her research work on form and motif, she tries to upset the representation of the third dimension in two-dimensional space. She has taken part in numerous exhibitions in South Korea, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and especially in France.
