Tereza Lochmann is graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (UMPRUM) and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. She develops a practice of large format woodcutting, painting and drawing. Her work hinges around moments of transgression, threshold situations. She explores the fine line between humanity and animality, civilization and savagery. Through the detour of the classical process, she uses woodcutting and printing as tools for painting. In her works, realized in a single copy, engraving tries to go beyond its traditional application and becomes a contemporary, living and variable medium. She was one of the artists nominated for the Emerige 2018 Revelations Scholarship.

Since 2016 she has participated in numerous group exhibitions (Galerie Joseph, Paris, Galerie Dukan, Leipzig) and has had solo exhibitions in Paris (Espace Canopy), Prague (Studio Pram) and Manila (Crown Spaces). She has collaborated with the Czech Center in Paris on an in situ installation in engraved wood Projet_Jazzdog, redesign of the Paris-Prague Jazz club. In 2018, she joined the artist residency Ugnayan sa Poblacion in Manila, Philippines.
